After two months of testing in Mozilla's developmental sandbox, Mozilla approved the buySAFE Shopping Advisor for public distribution via the Firefox Add-on site starting this week.

As you may have noticed, we just released a new version of Shopping Advisor for Internet Explorer!
Before giving you the highlights of this release, we want you to know that you will not need to re-install Shopping Advisor. This upgrade automatically occurred when you started your browser (If you haven't yet received the upgrade, you will the next time you start your browser).
What is new? As many of you know, we have been receiving lots of terrific feedback from you over the last several months, and based on that feedback, we have modified several key features to provide you with a better experience as follows:

Hi everyone. More big news today. buySAFE publicly launched the Firefox version of Shopping Advisor last week, so now we can support 95% of all shoppers on the Internet. You can see the press release here.
As many of you know, Shopping Advisor for Firefox has probably been the number one request we have received from users over the last month, and so we threw all of our weight behind getting this out the door and into your hands as quickly as possible.
Shopping Advisor for Firefox supports both Windows and Mac operating systems.
If you visit buySAFE, you can quickly click through to the Shopping Advisor installation page and get the new Shopping Advisor for Firefox.

During the maintenance period buySAFE bonding will not be active in your checkout process, and your Shopping Advisor toolbar will be inactive as well.
Date/Time: Saturday, September 27, 2008, 4 AM - 12 PM Eastern
Duration: Maximum 8 Hours
Customer Impact: buySAFE Seals will function normally, but no bonds will be issued during the maintenance period. Shopping Advisor will experience downtime during the maintenance period as well.

Today, we upgraded the Shopping Advisor Referral Program in order to fully support professional marketers. The new Referral Program enables marketers to easily earn referral revenues by sharing Shopping Advisor with new users. Referrers earn $1.00 for every new person that installs Shopping Advisor, and that means that professional marketers can earn thousands of dollars in new revenue per month from buySAFE.
If you refer 100 new Shopping Advisor users, you earn $100.00.

Today, we launched an updated version of Shopping Advisor. The latest version, 2.1.1, successfully addresses several bugs and includes a number of performance improvements related to websites with heavy use of javascript.
In addition, there are minor interface changes for the Safe Shopping Portal. The interface has been upgraded and menu items have been changed.
Finally, Shopping Advisor now supports Live.com search results in addition to Google, Yahoo!, MSN, and eBay. No upgrade is required. Existing Shopping Advisor's users will get this update automatically.
Starting today, Shopping Advisor users can now refer friends and earn $1.00 for each successful referral. That's right. You earn $1.00 for every person you refer who installs Shopping Advisor.
If you refer five of your friends, you will earn $5.00. If you refer one thousand of your friends, you will earn $1,000.00. It is that simple.
Users must create a buySAFE account to activate the referral program. You can click on the "Share" button in your Shopping Advisor to start sharing Shopping Advisor today!
